The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens is an easily accessible paradise of plants and gardens set in 125 hectares of natural bushland at Heatherbrae, just north of Newcastle. There are 25 themed gardens featuring both Australian native plants and plants from around the world, focusing mainly on the plants of the Hunter region.
Our 7-acre wildlife park contains a variety of native animals such as red and Grey Kangaroo’s, Bennets Wallabies, Swamp Wallabies, Tamar Wallabies, Emus, miniature goats and miniature horses. We also have several bird aviaries with galahs cockatoos & a Macaw.
