Wildlife Gone Walkabout | Interactive Wildlife Encounters

We aspire to inspire, creating unique and long lasting experiences to motivate children and adults to reach out and protect our native species. There's no better way to learn wildlife ecology and conservation than seeing its living, breathing embodiment right in front of your eyes!

What’s Involved?

Interactive wildlife presentations are the best way to get your students excited about science! Our sessions are designed to be no stress, no fuss, as we do all the work.

  • Sessions run for approximately 1 hour with up to 8 native animals.
  • Information aligned with the Victorian Curriculum (F-10) and VCE Study Design.
  • Interaction with the animals with students touching and holding the wildlife.
  • Ample opportunity for questions throughout the presentation with a recap and Q&A at its conclusion.
  • Additional interactive activities throughout the hours

As part of our Educational Incursions, we offer three packages to primary and secondary schools.

  • Native Wildlife – Features a selection of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals from across Australia.
  • Australian Reptiles – Exclusively features a huge variety of Australian reptiles including lizards, turtles, snakes and crocodiles.
  • Exploring Victoria – Features a selection of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals with distributions within Victoria.

Victorian Curriculum (F-10) and VCE

We align specifically with the the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Biology study design, to supplement your students’ studies perfectly. Each of our packages is crafted to bring out the best in your students learning with the best animals and the best topics. Plus, we offer complimentary post encounter worksheets for all levels to take the learning even further!

What do we need?

To make your wildlife experience fun, and safe, we need the following:

  • An indoor space that is approximately 5m by 5m where the students can sit in a semicircle on the floor.
  • All students to wash their hands before and after the show.
  • Supervision by at least one educator throughout the presentation.
  • Parking provided at the venue as close to the presentation space as possible.
  • Access to the presentation space, uninterrupted by students for set-up and pack-up.
