The Wellington Caves take your students on a fascinating journey back in time when megafauna roamed and crystal formations are a sight to be seen. 

Students can wonder at the spectacular cave formations and learn about the many fascinating megafauna that once roamed the area, they’re immersive journey can extend to the Discovery Lab where students undertake a fossil finding session with specialised tools in laboratory setting fit for future geologists, palaeontologists, Hydrologists and chemists.   

In 2021 the new Mega Fauna Visitor Display opened, an interactive display like no other in the region, students can follow a timeline of the region in a 360 immersive experience. 

The Wellington Caves Complex is a fantastic destination for school groups of all ages. Located in the Dubbo Region, the caves offer the opportunity for students to experience unchanged and contrasting ecosystems along with fascinating geological formations.  

The experienced guides can cater tours to suit the needs of all students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and beyond.

Discover the Dubbo Region, extend your visit and experience a piece of Australian prison history at the Old Dubbo Gaol. Offering dynamic guided tours, students will walk in the steps of prisoners in the 1800s, the Old Dubbo Gaol provides students with unique insights into colonial times, they will be enlightened by daring escapes stories, and will leave with an appreciation of our lives today.
