Travelbugs Mobile Mini-Beasts is a mobile exhibition and workshop introducing students to a diverse range of LIVE and preserved invertebrates, highlighting their special adaptations, intricate roles in food chains, food webs and ecology.

Students are given an exciting hands-on experience with a variety of live harmless invertebrate animals. Animals brought along include assorted species of spider, scorpion, centipede, millipede, grasshoppers, native cockroaches, stick insects, beetles etc, as well as preserved specimens and biofacts.

Business owner and head presenter, Jacqui Love, has over 20 years experience in this field, including 10 years as a keeper at Taronga Zoo. A wide range of workshop themes are available, all supporting current NSW Syllabus Guidelines.

Our school incursions provide good support materials - pre and post visit, including a resource CD full of Fact Sheets, Activity Sheets and more.

This incursion was the recipient of the Frater Award for Excellence within the NSW DET Performances for Schools Program in 2004 and 2006 and was also awarded the Performers in Schools (PinS) award in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017!

Each session includes a 1 hour interactive demonstration + 20min Hands-on Discovery session per class. Formats are flexible however.

Travelbugs Mobile Mini-beasts have been in operation for over 15 years. Suitable for all age groups. They travel all over NSW and the ACT.
