Located at historic Point Cook, the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force, the RAAF Museum houses the largest collection of military aircraft and related artefacts in Australia.
Located at historic Point Cook, the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force, the RAAF Museum houses the largest collection of military aircraft and related artefacts in Australia.
Ranging from the Australian Flying Corps, operating during World War I, to the RAAF's peacekeeping and civil aid missions to the present day, the Museum displays combine objects and personal stories to give visitors an understanding of the rich history and traditions of this arm of the Australian Defence Force. These displays are augmented by thirty historic aircraft from the entire history of the RAAF, some of which are maintained in flying condition for displays every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 1 pm.
Admission to the RAAF Museum is free, and the Museum in open from 10:00am to 3:00pm Tuesday to Friday, and from 10:00am to 5:00pm on weekends and public holidays. Closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and Mondays.
