Just an hour’s drive from Melbourne, PGL Campaspe Downs adventure camp occupies a rural position in 150 acres of natural bushland in the Macedon Ranges near Kyneton and Hanging Rock. By creating challenges and developing a range of skills, our adventure activities are designed to bring out the best in your students - building confidence, motivation and creating a sense of achievement.
School Camps at PGL Campaspe Downs
PGL Campaspe Downs offers an exciting range of outdoor adventure activities for schools and groups in a fun and friendly environment. Activities include abseiling, Aeroball, archery, canoeing, flying fox, giant swing and raft building. Selected activities are led by trained PGL instructors and there’s a choice of free-time activities as well, including basketball, netball, soccer and volleyball.
And in the evenings, there’s always a free entertainment programme run by the camp team to keep your group engaged and having fun.
Accommodation at Campaspe Downs is provided for up to 400 guests in cabins and tents. Cabins are either en suite or have purpose-built facilities close by. Teachers have single or twin en suite rooms and students sleep 4-12 per cabin. Tents in the grounds provide accommodation for eight students per tent with three to four teachers sharing a tent. Toilet and shower facilities are close by.
Facilities include two dining rooms, indoor sports stadium, recreation room, sports oval, campfire circle and conference rooms.
A fully catered service is included, with menus full of fresh vegetables, salads and fruit, plus plenty of carbohydrates for energy - your group will never go hungry - and we can usually cater for any special dietary requirements. Free places for teachers and supervising adults are allocated in the ratio of one for every ten students.
All groups enjoy the added benefit of a PGL Group Leader, a member of the PGL team who looks after you and your group for the duration of your camp and makes sure everyone is having a fantastic time.
