Set in the majestic hills of South Gippsland, PGL Camp Rumbug is two hours from Melbourne’s CBD and stands in 200 acres of glorious temperate rainforest overlooking Wilsons Promontory National Park. Our adventure activities are designed to bring out the best in your students by creating challenges and developing skills, building confidence, motivation and creating a sense of achievement.
School Camps at PGL Camp Rumbug
PGL Camp Rumbug provides a fun and challenging outdoor adventure experience for schools and groups. There’s a huge range of outdoor adventure activities to choose from in the grounds, including abseiling, archery, canoeing, flying fox, giant swing and raft building. Selected adventure activities are led by trained PGL instructors, so you can relax and enjoy the activity with your group. And in the evenings, there’s always a free entertainment programme run by the camp team to keep everyone engaged and having fun.
Accommodation for up to 325 guests is provided in three purpose-built lodges – Blackwood Lodge, Plane Tree Lodge (which has en suite rooms), and Lakeview Lodge, which is just a short walk from the main camp (within the grounds) and has stunning views across the lake. Accommodation for a further 60 guests is provided in tents and safari huts.
Facilities include a dining room, a recreation room, leaders’ lounge, campfire circle and covered outdoor areas.
We provide a fully catered service, with all meals served buffet style, including a salad bar at lunch and dinner. Fresh fruit is supplied at breakfast and lunch and we encourage students to take a piece of fruit for snacking during the day. We can usually cater for any special dietary requirements provided we have advanced notice. Free places for teachers and supervising adults are allocated in the ratio of one adult for every ten students.
All groups have their very own PGL Group Leader or ‘Groupie’, a member of the PGL team who looks after you and your group during your stay and makes sure everyone is enjoying their stay.
