The Parliamentary Education Office (PEO) provides parliamentary educational school excursions for teachers and students.
Accessible, immersive, experiential programs and resources will engage students of all ages - we are leaders in civics and citizenship education.
We do this by:
teaching students and teachers how parliament works through our experiential learning programs
producing resources and publications for teachers and students, for classroom use or independent study
running a usable, interactive and informative website with resources for all ages and levels of knowledge.
The PEO is situated right inside Australia’s federal Parliament. Our experienced staff have a working relationship with members of parliament and parliamentary officers. This gives us the opportunity to constantly observe Parliament in action and share our knowledge Australia wide.
Role-play is our principal teaching strategy. Our role-plays invite students to feel as well as to know what it is like to be a parliamentarian.
