At Meerkat Productions, our goal is to inspire and educate children through the magic of live theatre, fostering empowerment alongside entertainment, and supported by our complimentary teacher resources which are designed to facilitate effective discussions.

We focus on providing programs that celebrate literacy and student wellbeing. Our shows enable students and teachers to engage in important conversations, using puppetry to fully engage the students and to broaden the possibilities of the way we stage our shows.

Centred on themes surrounding literacy, wellness, anti-bullying, puppetry, and fairy tales, our productions offer engaging narratives with rich learning outcomes. Additionally, we're renowned for our annual adaptations of Australian stories shortlisted for Book of the Year, making us an ideal choice for your Book Week celebrations!

We believe exposing young people to live performance from an early age is critical. In a culture increasingly reliant on technology, there is a risk of losing the enchantment of storytelling, the magic of witnessing actors bring narratives to life in real-time, and the pure joy of experiencing live theatre. Theatre possesses the unique ability to craft enduring memories for both children and adults alike.

★★★★★
"Both performers were lovely and talented. I love having Meerkat Productions come to our school - I know that the performers will take care of everything (including getting children seated before the show) and the teachers can sit back and enjoy!" Ryan Catholic College, QLD

★★★★★
"… All the staff commented that they wanted to re-read [the book] and find all the things they hadn’t noticed and only discovered through your performance. It is a great way for the kids (and teachers!) to learn how to delve into a story and discover the writer’s intentions and at the same time have fun." Pleasant Street Primary School, Ballarat, VIC

★★★★★
"…The students were able to be a part of the show and participate in different bits. They were able to delve into the messages in the book better!" St Patrick’s School, Regional VIC

★★★★★
" Amazing and entertaining show. The themes covered are so relevant to particularly this year, reflecting on last year too. Some students are still quite anxious, so this is a great show for all students to watch and ties in well with our Well-being program too. Loved the show!” Blackburn Primary School, Blackburn, VIC
