Our Adventure Kokoda 4 Schools program is a unique learning pilgrimage based on the adversity of Australia’s wartime history and the physical challenge of trekking across the rugged and remote Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea.

The program provides a cultural awakening towards our closest neighbour which has been referred to as a ‘Land of a Thousand Cultures’ – a ‘Parliament of a Thousand Tribes’ – a ‘Land of the Unexpected’.

We experience just two of those cultures during our pilgrimage – the Koiari and the Orokaiva – who are direct descendants of the famous ‘fuzzy-wuzzy angels’.

Students will gain a strategic understanding of the War in the Pacific and a detailed understanding of the leadership displayed by Australian and Japanese commanders during the tactical battles fought across the Kokoda Trail.

Our Adventure Kokoda trek leaders have ‘walked the talk’ in regard to leadership. We have a combined total of 160 years professional military experience in Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan - we have led more than 720 expeditions with more than 7,000 trekkers safely across the trail over the past 29 years and we are a Recognised Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh program.

Our ‘Kokoda 4 Schools’ program was developed by Major Charlie Lynn who was honoured to be inducted as an Officer of Logohu by the Government of Papua New Guinea in 2015 ‘for service to the bilateral relations between Papua New Guinea and Australia and especially in the development of the Kokoda Trail and its honoured place in the history of both nations’ over the past 25 years.
