Parks Victoria is constantly looking for innovative ways to inspire children to take an active interest in Victorias magnificent parks and waterways and protect our environment. With over 4 million hectares of natural and cultural assets protected in parkland, theres so much to explore and enjoy. Visiting a park can improve your health, mind and wellbeing - Healthy Parks Healthy People.
Our Junior Ranger Program is a great way for children and their families to get involved in fun park activities both on-line and in parks. A range of activities are provided including Ranger-led activities, self-guided activities, and school visit / teacher-led activities developed in line with Victorian curriculum Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS).
The Ranger Roo website offers children an interactive insight into Victorias parks system through fun and educational games and activities, regular newsletters and promotions. You can meet Ranger Roo in person on one of his regular visits to community events, festivals and shows.
A key activity in the Junior Ranger Program is the Ranger Roo Club, which children can join and receive year round information, updates and activities.
