The Prison offers a range of fun and educational school excursions, all designed to keep your students interested whilst learning. From a standard tour of the Prison during the day, a spooky Torchlight Tour at night or an adventurous Tunnels Tour underneath the Prison - we will be pleased to focus your tour on any key area of interest.

Fremantle Prison offers students from Kindergarten to Year 12 a wealth of information and experiences to make a visit truly worthwhile.

Schools can choose from:

  • Prison tours - choose from a variety of themed tours of the Prison grounds and cellblocks, including a Modern History Tour, Convict History Tour or combine both as part of a combo tour or extend as part of a package
  • Tunnels tours - an exciting underground tour through a 1km labyrinth of tunnels beneath the Prison, designed to mentally and physically challenge your group (minimum age 12 years old). Limited numbers apply.
  • Torchlight tours - available on Wednesday or Friday evenings, or by special request, a great way to reward your students (not recommended for children under 10 years old).

A range of educational resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum are also available to download from www.fremantleprison.com.au for free.
