Extending 1.841 km into the beautiful waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage-listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, and is home to one of only 6 Underwater Observatories in the world!

Our excursion activities address themes of marine science, biodiversity, conservation and sustainability, as well as local history and heritage.

Activity options include:

  • Underwater Observatory Tour – Visit one of the world’s six Underwater Observatories and descend 8m below the surface to view a stunning wild reef with over 300 marine species.
  • Marine Discovery Centre – Embark on a voyage through Australia's offshore marine parks, including the Geographe Marine Park, the South-west Corner and the Perth Canyon. Learn about our local marine environments and the importance of conservation through interactive exhibits.
  • Jetty Train Ride – Relax on our solar-powered Jetty for a 3.6 km return journey across Geographe Bay, while hearing about Jetty history and spotting local wildlife.
  • History & Heritage Walk – Walk along the 1.841km long, heritage listed Jetty. View interpretive panels along the way while completing our bollard trail quiz.
  • Underwater Sculpture Park - Experience 13 underwater sculptures and view a subtropical reef up close.
  • Virtual Excursions – Marine science and conservation streamed from our Underwater Observatory directly to your classroom, wherever you are!
