Beats From The Soul offers Social and Emotional Learning workshops and incursions for specialist settings, primary schools, preschools and community groups. In a fun, safe, supported learning environment our workshops will explore skills and strategies to support children’s wellbeing.
It addresses the Victorian Curriculum in The Arts and Personal & Social Learning. It is aligned to the Resilience & Respectful Relationships initiative and gives students experiences and opportunities to the develop strategies to understand their emotional intelligence.
Through puppetry, drumming, rhythm, dance, creative activities, mindful awareness and play based learning we will provide opportunities for children to understand themselves, understand relationships and others.
Our puppet incursions are suitable for preschool, specialist settings and for classes from foundation to year 2 and will assist students in understanding friendships, feelings & emotions and provide practical tips for them to self-regulate and support their wellbeing.
Beats from the Soul will visit your setting and bring all props and resources. You just need the space and the children, and we will provide a fun filled educational and interactive puppet show. There will be singing, dancing, games and lots of birthday fun throughout this incursion. All children will be provided with a puppet colouring sheet and a creative puppet prop.
Our team include qualified and experienced Special Education teachers and an amazing creative design artist & puppeteer who creates all our puppets.
Our social and emotional learning circles are suitable for primary aged children and assist in building confidence, self-esteem, sense of self, teamwork, self-regulation, resilience, problem solving and leadership skills

We provide a drum for each child and all resources & props will be supplied. We just require a space that allows for participants to sit in a circular formation and doesn’t offer too many distractions.
Our social and emotional learning team include Kathryn Arbuckle who is an experienced, qualified Primary & Special Education teacher, meditation teacher, DRUMBEAT & Rhythm2Recovery facilitator. Laura Battley is a distinguished allied health professional, Creative Arts Therapist and Psychotherapist. She has over 16 years of experience in Creative Arts Therapy, excels in education and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
