Outdoor School Excursions

Getting out into nature and the fresh air on your next school excursion, and having some fun is a great way for students to come together outside the classroom and learn a wide range of new skills as well as unwinding after a stressful year.

Some of the benefits of Outdoor Activities for Children Include :

  • Learning about and interacting with the environment and having a greater appreciation / understanding of nature
  • Improved social skills - Outdoor activities can require a child to use their imagination and engage in teamwork, which helps improve children’s social skills and encourages positive interactions with others.
  • Greater self awareness through observational and reasoning skills
  • Building resilience / risk taking
  • Team building / supporting each other
  • Exercise to help improve their physical fitness and overall health
  • Improved motor skills
  • Building a sense of independence – outdoor activities often allow children to explore their boundaries and figure out what they are capable of doing.

At BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park, there is plenty of activities for the students to choose from for a team bonding experience.

Some of our great outdoor activities include:

  • ½ Size basketball court
  • Bocce lanes
  • Frisbee Golf
  • Ping Pong tables
  • Foot Pool – like snooker, but played with foot balls
  • There’s even a 16-metre, off-road remote-control car track, that the students can use for a bit of competitive racing, so they can bring their own cars and test their skills on the track.

The sprawling open space located at the back of the park, allows for sports training drills to help develop coordination skills and their physical fitness. There are also a range of activities for students to use as team building exercises.

Educational Workshops

BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is an award-winning park that has everything you will need for your group stay. We work closely with a range of operators who can accommodate the groups educational needs. From wildlife education, where students can learn about the wildlife we have on the property. We have koalas, kangaroos, and an abundance of birdlife. Here students can learn to understand how to help injured animals, to respect them and their habitats, and what they can do to help preserve their way of life.

We can also help organise curriculum-based group tours with local tour companies, giving plenty of opportunity to expand the education of students through a range of options to suit their needs.

And with a spacious conference centre located on site, schools can utilise this area for their own workshops and educational activities.

Accommodation

Accommodating all school and sporting groups, we have everything you need to help make your stay magical and memorable. The students will wake up to 32 acres of nature and an abundance of wildlife.
